  witness rules and teachings that go "beyond what is written" in the bible............(feel free to add more here or on other thread).

  1. hatred of men's facial hair and sideburns ...................................(privileges withheld if you have too much or wrong style) also length of men's hair.

  2. clothing requirements................. ties/jackets/suits mandatory for ministry/talks/privileges....and sisters can freeze there ass of rather than wear a hilliary clinton pantsuit or they can not be on the school.

  Very good, except the 'faithful and discreet' slaves, whether are class or not, are indeed 'anointed' in that they would not be faithful slaves whom Jesus approves unless they had received the holy spirit and it was operative on them, either as a class or individually. I think perhaps you mean to word that one differently, because all 'true Christians', of whom the 'faithful and discreet slave' would be one, are of course 'anointed' ie, have been born again.

  The real problem is that JW's believe only 144k persons have ever been 'anointed' of the holy spirit.

  in my relationships and dealing with jehovah's witnesses over the past few years i have come to learn one thing, the belief of who jesus is is the centre of the problem.

  i was led to these verses after a couple of aging witnesses left my house after much debate, which once again proved fruitless :(.

  The 'Holy one' of Israel, and the Lord God in the OT is clearly the Father, YHWH (Jehovah). Any scripture in the OT that refers to Lord God that is later applied to Jesus does not mean Jesus is God. This is the huge error trinitarians make and its actually blasphemous. All that is happening here is that since it is through Jesus that all prophecy is fulfilled and since the Father, God, has give everything to the Son, that some OT scriptures that are speaking about the Father are later applied to Jesus, as His Son and agent. The Father gave his 'name' and everything to his Son to such a degree that He allowed Jesus to fulfill scripture that originally applied to Himself.

  That's beautiful. Very touching. Salam Hayek is such a sweetie. She seems like a genuinely kind, caring person despite being so wealthy and famous. Some of the selfish, spoilt, hollywood bitches could really learn from her.

  While I'm not a trinitarian, I agree JW's have not built themselves firmly on Jesus, the rock. They are serving an organisation. Their house is built on sand, the sands of time, which are shifting beneath them more as each year passes. Their house will eventually crumble.

  Well, I have to say that Robert King (e-watchman) was absolutely right to put so much stock in Lyndon LaRouche all these years, irrespective of what you make of Robert King otherwise. LaRouche's predictions have proven spot on so far.

  apparently the new definition of "this generation" that came out in the the 90s, 1995-1997?

  has been replaced?.

  Last year they revealed 'new light' that the 'generation' is in fact all the anointed since 1914. In doing this they reverted back to an interpretation that goes back about 90 years I believe. Gods chariot went into reverse and did some high-speed donuts that left everyone a bit dizzy.

  So what is your take on Matthew 24:45-47 Oompa? Of course, the WTS's spin on the whole 1919 appointment thing is nonsense, nevertheless, Jesus did say that when he arrived he would find a faithful and discreet slave faithfully feeding and when he would appoint a faithful slave over all his belongings. What do you think this means? Where is this slave?

  let's look at some recent examples: the march '09 awake for example - "is money your master or your servant"?

  you might be tempted to think that some tiny crumb of logic might slip into watchtowerland , what with slipping contributions and cutbacks but you would be wrong!.

  No trinity, no immortal soul, no hell, heavenly hope for some and eternal life on a paradise earth for most. I can put my hand on my heart and say I'm convinced the JW's have those doctrines correct. The rest is all debateable.
